Intimidated

There are some amazing talented artists out there in blogland. Whilst they invite inspiration they can also encourage intimidation. I have to remind myself that I am creating for the pure pleasure and the relaxation it brings me - I don't have to be as good as or better than anyone else - I can just enjoy creating. Posting my efforts on my blog are helping me to be accountable, even if only to myself. I have a long journey ahead of me and I intend enjoying every little twist and turn and if I am influenced by other artist's styles, or by looking at their artworks it sparks greater creativity in mine, then I am grateful. I have met the most wonderful, generous souls through blogging about my artistic endeavours, they inspire and motivate me. I am grateful to them and to all artist bloggers who so generously share their talents with the world.

This is Day 7 sketch. I think I will make her into a painting entitled "I wonder ...". Unfortunately I did not have time to do any more painting on my one world one heart girl, maybe tomorrow ...

I hear you Brenda, it is very intimidating seeing some of the wonderful art pieces. I haven't posted anything in art yet, for that very reason. You are much further than I as far as attempting faces, they really scare me for some reason. I even won a free course, printed it off, and never started. I do love them though, practice will never make perfect, as an artist is their own worst critic. Just have fun, you're in it for you. We have to remember it, How are things in Austrailia, Mighty chilly here in Canada as the snow falls all night.

Hello Brenda,
Just like you I am very intimidated by some of the art work I see.It sometimes stops me from posting on my blog.It helps me to know that I am not alone. I think your faces and background are beautiful.Sometimes I think we are too hard on ourselves.
Peace and Love = )

Brenda,

Your girls are beautiful. Did it ever occur to you that there may be blogger artists who are intimidated by your faces??

Slap that inner critic and keep doing art. You are better than you think,

xoxo

It is easy to look at someone else's art and feel inferior. It is much harder to get back to our own drawing board and keep going. As long as you have something to express you will be creating. It's truly the process that matters. Pat yourself on the back for making it this far.

She is really really beautiful. I can't wait to see her painted. She really does look like she is saying, "I wonder..."

You should feel wonderful about your art, you do beautiful work.

I can't wait to see it and the OWOH girl.

what you express is universal amongst creative types...we are our own worst critics sometimes...aren't we

I think your sketch is amazing...truly lovely...I would be very pleased with those kinds of results

I did try my hand and felt like I might have a chance at drawing...interestingly enough I let other things get in the way and now I'm not even sure where that sketch is

you've inspired me and it's lovely of you to share Brenda

Hello Brenda, This strikes a chord ~ it can be so hard not to compare and only take away the inspiration. Thanks for stopping by, great to see you are participating in one heart giveaway too the painting is beautiful. I am enjoying my visit and your art! Have a wonderful and creative week ~Theresa

So very true! I think we all feel the same most of the time.
Sometimes when I'm asked to donate a piece to a local charity event, I struggle to paint something I 'think' people will like and bid on. I've finally gotten to the point where I paint what I WANT and in MY STYLE and it is what it is :) It's so freeing!
Always just paint for the pure enjoyment and love of it and you can never go wrong♥

I think a lot of creatives are plagued with the concern that they don't measure up to somthing.. be it another artist or the impossible standards we set for ourselves.

Your art is beautiful and as long as you are playing and having fun... that's all that matters!

I have not shared my art with anyone but family before I started doing the prompts last month. Seriously. I was so afraid that I didn't measure up. Now a LOT of people see it every day. I still may not measure up in their eyes.. but that's ok with me.
