Two more angels completed

Had a good day in the studio today, completing two more angels. I rubbed gold rub 'n buff on the molding paste angel wings and it looks quite effective and incidentally, quite festive (she is meant to be a Christmas Wichtel angel). She flies off to the US tomorrow. The other angel has embossed cardstock on her wings, rubbed over by a Brilliance gold inkpad and surrounded by seed pearls. I'm really happy with how they have both turned out. Only have my blonde angel to finish off and that's it.

Yesterday I received this gorgeous painting that I bought from Sherry Carrigan, a wonderful artist. It is my Christmas present to myself. I could really relate to the sentiment of this painting - getting older and greyer "age is nothing more than maturity of the heart". It's just beautiful. Check out Sherry's blog and Etsy store, you are sure to find something you like.

Back to work tomorrow, so not a lot of art will happen at home. My cold isn't any better, in fact I think it has got worse but I'm sure I'll get better soon.

Oh, check out my niece's website, Chavah Kinloch, she has a special giveaway on her blog - you need to perform a random act of kindness and blog about it linking back to her site.

Brenda,

Love your girls and the wings on both - quite lovely - out of this world - you could say, angelic.

Sure wish you could kick that cold. Have you tried hot tea with honey and lemon. It soothes even if it doesn't cure.

xoxo

Your angels are absolutely gorgeous!! I love that you show how a piece unfolds and give details on your technique. Thanks for that! I've bookmarked both your and your niece's site. Thanks for your congratulations to me on my blog, and for entering my giveaway. I hope you are all healed up from your cold really soon! Blessings, Serena

It sounds like you could really use a lift...and artwork is always a lift! So sorry that you have been under the weather with a cold. It hasn't affected your wonderful artwork though. I so adore your angels. Hmmm...perhaps we'll be purchasing from you one of these days??

You certainly have gone to town even though you aren't feeling good. They all look so amazing.

I will take you up on your offer but only if I can send you something too. Let's talk more after the holidays :)

Thank you for posting the in-progress images. I do not know how to get that first layer of skin color down without going over the drawing, or do you do that and then go back and redraw? Your angels are beautiful! The wings are just fantastic and I love all of the different techniques you are using on them.

(Hi, it's me you know the one that has been telling the rss feed to keep you post "unread" so I would remember to come by here and add comment on your sweet blog)

Lovely to see your work! You do have a way with eyes to make them "come alive", and the way you wrap the angles clothing, especially on the brown one and on the green one.
