Sharing some sketches
I have been too busy to paint this past week, yet I still have one more angel to complete as a Christmas present. It will have to wait unfortunately, as my family and I are off on holiday (vacation) to the beach (it is summer in Australia) for a week, returning 20th December. I will take my sketch book, so hopefully will have something to show you upon my return. These sketches that I share with you are just rough ones, I haven't even rubbed out a lot of the guide lines, but each night I try and sketch some girls. It is most interesting to look back on my sketches, some are really quite awful. A couple of these I really like and will paint them - I quite like my heart shaped girls and their spirally hair. I also just like to sketch and experiment, it's a lot of fun. Hope you manage to get your Christmas shopping done (I did majority of mine on line), and enjoy this wonderful festive season. Talk to you when I get back.

Love the sketches. Favorite is the pony tail girly. I envy you and your vacation. Have a wonderful and safe trip.
Love all your sketches. Each one has its own personality and character.
Hope you find lots of sketching time on your vacation. I believe sketching is a tool to put on paper what is in the heart--even in its raw forms. It's similar to the writing process. One may write 20 pages in rough draft form, and the final copy may result in two pages. I like to think of sketching as an artist's refinement tool. So sketch away! Enjoy your family time.
Hi Brenda!
Yes, that's my painting on Michelle site. YAHOO!!
LOVE your girl sketches. One of them looks like my cousin Nancy. And I love their heart-shaped faces and the curly-q hair.
Have a wonderful vacation! Keep sketching!! So Fun, isn't it!?
When your post opened I thought look at all these lovlies! I like #5 and the last one. Don't you have my address to send one to me? LOL Hope your holiday (the beach and the Holiday) are wonderful!
I think my favorite is the first one. Really like the hair and the heart-shaped face. Enjoy that vacation, I'm sure it's well deserved. Soak up some rays for us on the other side of the equator! I look forward to seeing some more when you get back.
great sketches!!! you reminded me I really need to finish that 2nd painting (going to give it and the other 2, even the bad one I guess-since my friend insists she likes it, as gifts) and the first of the year I need to start on that workshop I bought-
thanks for the comment:) I finished the book, couldn't get the shading right-still using that mechanical pencil, the leads too hard really, but it's okay for practice(especially since I bought a ton of them) Hope you have a good weekend-I'll write you and let you know how it goes tomorrow, at work (I worked extra hours at my regular client tonight so i would have the afternoon off at least)
have a good night (or day? I am still confused on the time thing)
Trish
I'm glad to hear that you are taking time to be creative even with so much going on. Have a great vacation and I look forward to seeing what you come back with.
I'm so glad that you share these with us because it is exciting to see the journey. I'll look forward to seeing these fine ladies as they progress.
Wonderful sketches Brenda...and great that you shared them with us. They are all lovely, but my fav is third row left. So much like your gorgeous angels...
Happy Christmas
Linda xx

I'm feeling better, just got this cold hanging on, but it's nothing like it as the first day-yeah,I'm trying to do some drawings and things for presents, I put it off for too long-can't believe there's a=only a few days left (I think I'm going to make some journals too, they don't take as long) Well,I just got home from work and I need to clean, draw, and finish that painting from long time ago too-but FIRST, I'm going to lie on couch and rest a but:)
have a good day and I'll talk to you later
